SVEN SWENSON – WRITER & DIRECTOR
Dubbed ‘The Bard of Brisbane’, Sven’s work has garnered seven Matilda Awards, including three gold and has been performed throughout Australia as well as seasons of Beautiful Souls in New York and Los Angeles. His epic play Road to the She-Devil’s Salon won the inaugural Queensland Premier’s Drama Award and The Bitterling was a finalist for the Queensland Premier’s Literary Awards. The Truth about Kookaburras was highlighted by the Courier Mail as one of four standout productions of the decade in 2010. He is currently writing three new Sundial Plays titled Billy Daylight, Hellfire Pass and The Living Legend of Chaing Mai.
JAMES TRIGG – DIRECTOR
This is James’ fifth project with Pentimeno after appearing in Tiptoe (BPH, 2015), The Truth About Kookaburras (La Boite Indie 2012) and assistant directing both Angel Gear & Dangerfield Park (La Boite Indie 2014). Since graduating with an Applied Theatre degree from Griffith University in 2009, James’ other credits include; A Lie of The Mind (Thatproco.), Under Milk Wood (T.B.P),[Disordered] Action of the Heart (One of a Pair), Un-Natural Selection (Awkward Prod. GGAC Indie), Closer (Revolt, Melb) and Greek to Chic (QAC Tour). James has also had production roles with St Kilda Festival, Queensland Music Festival, Ten Days on The Island, Brisbane Festival and Backbone Youth Arts’ 2high Festival (BPH).
RO TAYLOR - PRODUCER
Rowena is an independent creative producer with a background in production and stage management. Her experience ranges across various roles within many organisations including Backbone Youth Arts, Queensland Theatre Company, Brisbane Festival, Queensland Music Festival and the Brisbane Powerhouse. Her ongoing commitment and investment to the independent sector is highlighted in her work with Pentimento Productions, for whom she’s produced and stage managed multiple works.. She has successfully delivered various events for local and federal government including St Kilda Festival, G20 Summit and Brisbane City Council. In 2015 she was selected to participate in the European Festival Association’s Atelier for Young Festival Managers in Beirut, Lebanon.
PETER CREES – ASSOCIATE PRODUCER & MUSICIAN
Peter's roles within the independent arts sector are varied, working as a designer, actor, musician, composer and associate producer. His design work was seen in the 2011 production of Anton Chekhov's Cherry Orchard with heartBeast Theatre where he also performed the role of Yermolai Lopakhin. He arranged and recorded music for Pentimento Productions' 2014 season of Dangerfield Park and Angel Gear at La Boîte, and performed multiple roles in a new adaptation of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice written by Nigel Munro-Wallace. Most recently, he designed and constructed costumes for Pentimento Productions' 2015 season of Tiptoe at Brisbane Powerhouse.
RAYMOND MILNER – PRODUCTION DESIGN
Ray is a Brisbane based Scenic Designer. He holds a Bachelor in Theatre Arts: Stage Management and Technical Production (USQ) and a Diploma of Interior Design and Decoration (CATC Design School). Ray’s design credits include: The New Black -The Musical at The Gold Coast Arts Theatre staring Ernie Dingo and Robyn Archer; Boadicea The Rock Opera - Diane Gough Productions; The Wonderful World of Dissocia - Underground Productions; Black Midas - Human Burn; Un Natural Selection - Awkward Productions; Orpheus Descending - South Bank Institute of Technology; Yasu Yoshikawa Mono Wheel World Championship, Chicago. Mort – Brisbane Arts Theatre. Ray is currently the Site Designer on Backbone’s 2high Festival of Art Science and Ideas.
MATT MILNE – LIGHTING DESIGN
Matthew Milne aspires to be a Lighting Technician, transitioning into Lighting Design. Since graduating QUT with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Technical Production), Matthew has worked as a Lighting Designer on a number of productions, including Alice in Wonderland (Anglican Church Grammar School) and the Inaugural Annual Dance Affairs (Bleach Festival). During his time at QUT, Matthew worked as a Lighting Designer (Mnemonic) and as Head Electrician (A Chorus of Disapproval). Other roles include Lighting Operator (Wintertime), Sound Designer (Three Sisters), and Theatre Technician at Brisbane Powerhouse. Matthew is currently employed as Technical Coordinator at Brisbane Festival, working on their mainstage program.
RYAN MAHONY – SOUND DESIGN
Ryan is a Brisbane based sound designer and engineer for stage and screen. Holding a Bachelor of Fine Arts majoring in Technical Production, Ryan has worked with a wide variety of companies including Queensland Theatre Company, Queensland University of Technology, LaBoite Theatre Company, Tone Black Productions, Village Roadshow Pictures and Walt Disney Pictures. In addition to his work in theatre and film Ryan’s studio credits include contracts with Sony Music Australia and Warner Music Australia, and is also an active live sound engineer.
KELLY SPICE – STAGE MANAGER
Kelly Spice graduated from Queensland University of Technology with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Technical Production in 2008. Kelly has worked with Brisbane Festival, Sydney Festival, Bell Shakespeare, Ensemble Theatre, Griffin Theatre, Darlinghurst Theatre, the Sydney Conservatorium of Music and Spoontree Productions to name a few, in a variety of stage and technical management positions. Kelly can currently be found enjoying a fulltime position with Brisbane Festival in the Technical department.
YASMIN CACCIOTTI – PRODUCTION ASSISTANT & MAKEUP ARTIST
Yasmin is currently studying a Bachelor of Creative Industries majoring in Drama and Literary studies. 2016 will see Yasmin complete a graduating diploma of education at the Queensland University of Technology with her desired career goal to be a high school drama teacher.. Yasmin was seconded to Pentimento Productions in early 2015 in the role of Production Assistant and Makeup Artist on Tiptoe. She has a strong passion for acting, with her previous credits including Brisbane Arts Theatre's, Romeo and Juliet and Southbank Institute of Technology's Rhime of the Ancient Mariner.
GENE BANYARD – PRODUCTION ASSISTANT
Gene Von Banyard is trained in classical, modern and contemporary theatre. Being versed in the stage as well as film and new-media, he is educated, experienced and passionately dedicated towards the craft. Whilst in Brisbane he has been involved in Short & Sweet QLD and Anywhere Theatre Festival. He has also been involved with numerous, local film productions with students from Griffith Film School, JMC Academy & SAE Institute as well as local theatre companies such as Queensland Shakespeare Ensemble, Nathan Thomas Schulz presents & Pentimento Productions.
SAM RYAN – CUTTY
Following his distinguished military service, Sam went on to complete a Science Degree followed by a Graduate Diploma of Education. Throughout his studies, Sam pursued his passion for acting and performed in a number of world-renowned theatre productions in Sydney, including Peter Pan, Les Miserables, CATS and Shakespeare’s Richard III. Sam recently participated in the creative development and performance of The Return, written and directed by Linda Hassall. Earlier this year, Sam made his Pentimento debut in the role of Seth McClusky in Swenson’s Tiptoe at Brisbane Powerhouse.
REGAN LYNCH – LAIDIE
Regan is an emerging theatre-maker based in Brisbane. With a strong foundation in research, dramaturgy, writing and performance, he brings an eclectic range of skills to the development of new work. Regan's theatre experience includes original development, acting, dance, street-performance, pantomime, drag, puppetry, improvisation, clowning, lighting design, lighting operating and assistant stage managing. His writing has featured in UQ's Semper Floreat, research database AustLit, and he came Highly Commended in the 2014 State Library of Queensland Young Writers Award. Regan is writing his Honours Thesis in queer theory at the University of Queensland and graduated holding a Dean's Commendation for High Achievement and a Dean's Commendation for Academic Excellence.
CASEY WOODS – BETH
In 2011, Casey received Queensland Theatre Company’s Young Playwrights Award for her first play Limerence. Casey participated as an actor and director in the Brisbane Short+Sweet Festival from 2011 to 2013. Productions include: The Reluctant Testicle (Director - 2011 - Top Ten Shortlist), The Rental Company (Director - 2012 - Best director and Short+Sweet Award), Knowing Jorja Jones (Actor - 2013 - Best Drama Award), and the recent multiple award winning Angel Gear at La Boite (Bille Brown Award for Best Emerging Artist - 2014 Matilda Award).
ZACHARY BOULTON – DAVID
Zachary, proudly represented by BMEG, graduated from both Southbank Institute of Technology and Griffith University. In 2012 he performed at La Boite Roundhouse Theatre in The Truth About Kookaburras as Goony (Pentimento Productions). During 2013/14 Zachary toured two shows through schools around Queensland including The Box by Andrew Corey and An Experiment With The Caucasian Chalk Circle by Marcel Dorney. In 2014 Zachary participated in the creative development of The Difficult Return by Linda Hassall and held lead roles in Swenson’s Angel Gear and Dangerfield Park (La Boite Indie). Earlier this year, Zachary performed in the one-man show The Fever by Wallace Shawn and was Assistant Director on Swenson’s Tiptoe.
PETER NORTON – JUSTIN
Peter graduated from the QUT Acting BFA in 2013. While at university he took leading roles in Wild Honey, A Midsummer Night's Dream, August: Osage County and Charles Mee's Wintertime. His performance credits include: Disordered Action of the Heart (3rd Room/One of a Pair), Bastard Territory (Knock 'Em Down), Life of Galileo (CWTC), Equus and Closer (BAT), One by One (Loullabelle), The Sum of Us (Nash), and Deception, Illusion and Nate (Over the Top, London). Peter is also the Creative Director of 3rd Room Theatrical which presented the critically acclaimed production of The Safe House and co-presented Disordered Action of the Heart for the 2014 Adelaide Fringe Festival.
